Allen Lam
Allen Lam Artistic Director/Choreographer
Allen is an accomplished choreographer and performer with a broad reaching talent covering classical ballet, contemporary and experimental dance. He is a graduate of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and received an MFA at the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University. He has performed with several major dance companies in Hong Kong and the United States.
Allen has received the Hong Kong Dance Awards for organising theatre and educational dance projects in 2005 and 2014. As a Choreographer, Allen was co-founder of DanceArt Hong Kong in 1995. In 2004, Allen founded Muse Motion where he continues to produce outstanding work.
Muse Motion prioritizes creative, challenging collaborations and exchanges in different art forms. Muse Motion productions are talent-centered Iinnovations. Multidisciplinary teams are the heart of the Muse Motion production; their performances are presented regionally and internationally.
While creating the latest new production of Beyond Motion and Stillness, Muse Motion continues to work with art and technology connect wtih new generations of dancers and audiences.
Muse Motion has set itself an
explicit art education assignment
and has over the years devoted a
great deal of attention and energy to
educational and participatory
projects. This effort is exemplified in the Rhapsody in Dance Education 2009, 2011 and 2013; and The Neverland.
